A weekend Yoga Retreat with Jenny & Silke

"TAKING A STEP BACK"

2024, August 23-25

at Living River in Montevallo, Alabama, USA

Join us for a relaxing weekend of yoga and nature; a time to reconnect, recharge and restore in the rustic beauty and comfort of the Living River Retreat Center: 2000 Living River Pkwy, Montevallo, AL 35115 

Leave your responsibilities at home and make time to move a little slower, breathe deeply, and enjoy a variety of yoga practices surrounded by the calm and peace of the Cahaba River. This retreat is self-paced to allow time to rest and renew. All sessions are optional.

 

Friday

6 pm arrive and get settled

7 pm opening circle

8 pm deep relaxation and meditation practice

Saturday

7 am self-serve coffee/tea/snack

7:30 am gentle morning flow to wake up and stretch

9:30 am brunch

Free time to explore, connect with nature

1 pm group walk

4 pm body rolling and restorative yoga

6 pm dinner

8 pm Yoga Nidra

9 pm campfire ( if possible)
 

Sunday

8 am self-serve coffee/tea

8:30 Energy medicine yoga and flow

10 am brunch

Noon farewell circle

2 pm depart

Jenny

Jenny is a seasoned practitioner of yoga discovering her love of this practice in the 90’s when she was right out of college. Through many years and many moves, experiencing yoga in all the places she lived and visited, her decision to finally share her love of yoga came in 2019 when she completed her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification at Asheville Yoga School. With an adventurous and open heart, Jenny’s exploration of yoga has led her to practice almost every form of yoga from aerial to ashtanga, yin to more restorative and meditative practices like Iyengar and Nidra. Jenny currently finds her yoga home at Lifeline Solutions in Tuscaloosa, AL

Silke

For Silke yoga takes place on and off the mat. In her life´s journey, her motto is “A smile changes the world.” For almost 20 years, yoga has been her passion and an integral part of her life. Yoga always helps her ground herself. In her classes, you can expect a time on the mat filled with ease and love. After years of exploring different yoga styles, Silke now mainly teaches Restorative Yoga because we all need more rest in our busy lives, Fascia Yoga to find and ease tension in our body, Energy Medicine Yoga because when energy flows we can enjoy life in balance and harmony and Yamuna Body Rolling to live in a perfectly aligned body. 

About us

Accommodation

Living River https://www.livingriver.org is a simple but beautiful place to stay.

Please bring your sheets, pillows,  and towels. Two rooms always share one bathroom. You may request a roommate.

 

Food

Fresh vegetarian food will be provided. On Friday evening, please bring your dinner/snack or join us after dinner. Saturday, breakfast, snacks, and dinner will be provided. Sunday we offer brunch. Please let us know if you have any food allergies. You are welcome to bring a snack or beverage to share. We will provide coffee and tea.

Yoga

Please bring your yoga mat and props like bolsters, blankets, pillows, meditation cushions, eye pillows, and/or yoga straps. If you need props or a mat, please let us know. Bring fascia balls or Yamuna balls too.

Please include your first and last name and your email address. You will receive a confirmation email with payment information. Once payment is received, you are officially registered.

Notice: If you cancel after March 30th there is no refund, but you can let someone else attend in your place.
